BUILD YOUR MUSIC EMPIRE

You're ready to do incredible things! You're driven to achieve greatness and leave your mark!. You're set to conquer the music world!

This is exactly what Alexander the Great accomplished—literally! But where did it lead him? The Emperor of Rome, Marcus Aurelius, (161 TO 180 CE), made sure to remind himself that Alexander met the same fate as everyone else—he died and was buried. The band Iron Maiden captures this idea with their lyric: “Measure your coffin / does it measure up to your lust?” Interestingly, an even older poem by Juvenal, written around 100 AD, highlights that while Alexander's ambition couldn't be contained by the world in life; in death, a coffin was all he needed.

Absolutely, no one is suggesting you should set your ambition aside or stop striving for greatness! Just look at Marcus Aurelius—he passionately pursued being a good person, a wise ruler, and an insightful philosopher. And that's exactly the point: he didn't measure his life by the grandeur of monuments left in his honor (though there are some), but by the things he could control. How inspiring is that?
